Today 143 united territorial communities from 22 oblasts of Ukraine hosted their first elections. Hennadij Zubko, the Vice-Prime-Minister – the Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Communal Housing, reported this on his FB page. To his words, 367 communities united during two years of the decentralization reform.
The local leaders and parliamentarians were elected in 76 villages, 46 small towns, and 21 city communities. Zhytomyr oblast is a leader in a number of hosted elections – in 22 communities.
Let us recall, 41 UTCs hosted the first elections on December 11, 2016. 133 territorial communities in 13 oblasts of the country took part.
Also, this year, 159 communities that hosted elections in 2015 changed for the direct budget transactions with the state budget and received funding for development of the infrastructure of their territories.
