According to the decision of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, from Jan. 1 assets of insolvent banks will be allocated for sale through the ProZorro.Prodazhi system. It is reported by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
Operators of electronic platforms that are not connected to the ProZorro.Prodazhi system will be able to hold auctions of the already allocated assets till Feb. 1, 2017. Lots which won’t be sold till that date, will be allocated on platforms connected to the ProZorro.Prodazhi system.
“Today the Fund has accredited 12 platforms joined to the pilot project. And we’d like to expand the circle of auction organizers, thus, we encourage everyone to connect to the ProZorro.Prodazhi. We are already aware of a number of auction organizers that are going to join the system by the end of the year, “- said Yulia Bereschenko, director of consolidated sales and asset management of the Fund.
For Ukrainians closing of insolvent banks means less risk of losing money in an unreliable bank. Whereas, the Deposit Guarantee Fund returns deposits to depositors of bankrupt banks, if amount does not exceed 200 thousand UAH. Assets of bankrupt banks is one of the main sources of the Fund revenues.
