Due to the decentralization, the general local budgets funds exceeded annual targets by 100% in average, during 11 months of this year. Compared to the similar period of 2015, the gain amounted to 44 billion UAH. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman reported this news at the opening of the International Mayors Congress “Global Trends in Urban Development”.
Last year, local budgets received 29,6 billion UAH, additionally. This means that the local budgets have a more than 50% growth every year, thanks to the decentralization reform.
The next step of the reform should include public and effective management of these funds by the local authorities. The funds received should be allocated for the realization of varied life interests of the communities and urban development.
It is worth to mention that by the end of October, 209 consolidated territorial communities were created and 45 underwent the affirmation procedure. It was planned to organize approximately 1500 communities, in total.
