On Feb. 25, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a Decree of approval of “The Doctrine of Information Security of Ukraine” aimed at promotion of effective opposition to propaganda in hybrid warfare pursued by the Russian Federation in Ukraine.
The Doctrine empowers the Ministry of Information Policy to monitor the media and accessible to Ukrainians segment of the Internet network for the detection of prohibited content. Moreover, The Ministry should develop a strategy for provision of the process of “information” release and reintegration of the temporarily occupied territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs faces the task of lighting Ukraine’s official position in the foreign media. A number of tasks are also assigned to the Ministry of Defence, the Security Service of Ukraine, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection, intelligence agencies, the National Institute for Strategic Studies.
The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, Ukrainian State Film Agency, the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine are also involved in the protection of Ukrainian infosphere from Russian propaganda.
