According to the results of polls, carried out by the sociological group “Rating”, compulsory declaration of wealth for Ukrainian officials was called the greatest success of the government in 2016.
Over 60% of respondents considered an electronic declaration system for officials to be the most important achievement of the government.
Then comes improvement of army combat capability, introduction of a mechanism of competitive selection of civil servants, implementation of the “ProZorro” state procurement system and entry into force of the Agreement on free trade zone with the EU.
Some reforms are considered to be failing. Over 60% of Ukrainians saw nothing positive in decentralization of power. Only one in every five people called negotiations with the EU on granting Ukraine visa-free status a “great success”, while one in four – a “big failure”. Police reform is considered to be successful by 28% of respondents, unsuccessful – 65%.
Fight against corruption and judicial reform were called the biggest failure – only 8% of respondents considered them to be successful. Increase of tariffs for housing and utilities services and falling hryvnia also received negative assessment of Ukrainians.
