Last week the platform held its first meeting in Kiev, aimed to organize in Ukraine the system of early intervention services. The participants presented expert vision about the functioning of the future system of assistance. Also, there were presented projects being implemented in Ukraine.
Early intervention – is an interdisciplinary complex assistance for families with children under four years old, with disabilities, developmental disorders or risk of disease contraction. With this help kids and their parents will be able to gain knowledge and skills necessary to improve their standard of living and help with better socialization.
During the platform meeting, representatives of the pilot regions shared information about the situation on the ground and shared experience in solving problems to assist families who have children with special needs.
The participants of the meeting also discussed functioning strategy of the Platform and its future work.

It should be noted that the creation of the Platform became possible by signing in April this year the memorandum on cooperation between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Social Policy, NGOs and international partners. Also, among the participants of the Platform, there were representatives of Regional State Administrations from the regions where pilot projects are implementing.
