The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a mechanism allowing farmers to receive the state financial assistance automatically. UAH 5 billion is envisaged in the budget to support the agricultural sector in 2017.
Subsidies may be obtained by the companies dealing with animal and poultry farming, horticulture and viticulture. Money will be payed monthly, in size depending on the amount of the taxes paid.
In the resolution, the Government made an exception for the poultry farmers. They will receive the half of the total amount. Probably, this decision was taken to limit the amount of assistance to one of the largest players of the market – the company “Myronivskyi Hliboprodukt”, which produces poultry under the brand “Nasha Riaba”.
In 2017, distribution and implementation of the state budget will be totally automated and will depend on two state agencies. The State Fiscal Service will form a list of farmers-taxpayers. Further, the State Treasury Service will automatically transfer money to farmers. The Government hopes that this scheme will reduce corruption component in the allocation of public money.
