From now on, the people employed by the local government bodies in the age of retirement will be allowed to receive their pensions. This is provided by the new law, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada along with the draft budget 2017, on December 6.
This pension will amount to no less than 1,5 of the living wage for pensioners (now equal to 1247 UAH). In a case a pension is higher than 1870,5 UAH (1247х1,5), then it will be trimmed to 85% of a total amount granted, but no less than 1870,5 UAH a month. However, when retired, this pensioner will receive a total of 100% of the granted amount.
Beside this, the law enables the local government bodies to inspect and issue administrative protocols about violations of labor law by enterprises and institutions of all property types.
Also, according to the law, city administrations are exempted from court fees for the hearings of cases about social protection of the residents.
The adopted changes will contribute to the development of bodies of local self-government.
