From the beginning of 2017, 10 more housing cooperatives joined government energy efficiency program. They took “warm” credits in the amount of 673 thousand UAH, as attested by the weekly monitoring made by State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation of Ukraine.
Under the terms of the program, government refunds minimum 40% of the “warm” credit. This gives housing cooperatives opportunities to buy required materials and equipment for energy saving almost at a half of the market prize. Members of the housing cooperatives, as well as the individual property owners, are eligible to take part. If the grantees live in the household, credit refund will be 70%.
From the beginning of the program, 639 housing cooperatives already took credits. They draw more than 78 million UAH to the energy saving efforts: windows replacement, heat insulation and modernization of the buildings, installation of the heating units, energy meters, etc. The government already refunded 28.3 million UAH.
The National budget for 2017 grants 400 million UAH for the energy efficiency program. Although, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine still haven’t approved the corresponding resolution and the refunding of the credits has temporarily stopped.
