On Feb. 22 the Government ratified the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, which will provide Ukrainian entrepreneurs with the access to the additional funding for their development. The program should strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium business and increase its economic activity.
The total budget for the program that will continue until 2020, amounts to EUR 2.3 billion.
226 deputies voted for the participation of Ukraine in the EU program for the Competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (COSME).
Small and medium enterprises will be able to receive qualified advice, take professional training, attend seminars and conferences. Moreover, entrepreneurs will be provided with an assistance in facilitating access to foreign markets and in finding business partners in the EU to share experience and to take an internship.
NGOs, regional development agencies, educational institutions, business associations, trade unions and public authorities can also participate in COSME.
The agreement enters into force from the date of the informing the Commission by the Ukrainian side through the diplomatic channels about the fulfillment of its internal procedures.
