The Ministry of Economy caught Russian exporters of fertilizers in dumping. The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade adopted a resolution to impose anti-dumping duties on import of certain types of Russian fertilizers.
Not to interfere with work of Ukrainian farmers, these restrictions will be introduced to Russian suppliers after the adoption of the law on reduction of import duty by the Verkhovna Rada. Russian manufacturers of fertilizers are going to be replaced by Chinese, American and the Middle Eastern ones.
According to the results of a special investigation, which was carried out by the Comission, prices on nitrogen fertilizers imported from Russia had been artificially lowered, resulting in displacement of competitors. Russian suppliers of fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate, carbamide or carbomide-ammonium mixture accounted for 90% of the import market. This fact made Ukrainian farmers dependent on Russia.
The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade is a body of state control of foreign trade, which investigates and take decisions on anti-dumping and anti-subsidy violations.
